Some files on the external USB drive I (10 TB WD Elements) that is ALWAYS running / connected) are not shown in both of my Everythings (one of them without any by the user added properties).
Newly created / copied / moved files are not found / indexed / shown (in the result list). The files with the newest creation dates are about from three days ago.
The same files copied / movied to / created on two different partitions (C: and another one) on an internal SSD drive are shown in Everything.
After clicking "Force rebuild" the new files (on I:) are shown. And files created (on I:) now are shown as well.
Is there a method to make Everything ALWAYS (without forcing a rebuild) automatically scan / index / show new files?
Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
Re: Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
The WD is NTFS & you're indexing it that way rather then a Folder Index?
Are your index settings set correctly (to monitor...)?
And you have not Paused Updates?
Might the particular files be hardlinks, or is it not seeing any changes at all (for the past number of days)?

Yes, NTFS. I am not quite sure to understand. The drive is indexed unter NTFS indexes. Not as a folder index. The WD is NTFS & you're indexing it that way rather then a Folder Index?
Yes, I would think so:
Not by intention. How would one do that? How could I check? Is there a shortcut? May be pressed by accident? And you have not Paused Updates?
Have never understood what hardlinks are, but it does not find / show usual files (e.g. xyz.txt) the from last days.Might the particular files be hardlinks, or is it not seeing any changes at all (for the past number of days)?
Re: Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
Thank you for the issue report Biff,
Could you please send some debug output?
Could you please send some debug output?
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Start Debug Logging.
- Let Everything sit for one minute. (this will allow enough time for Everything to log any errors while monitoring your I: drive)
- Please make a change to your I: drive (for example: create a New Folder on your I: drive)
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop Debug Logging.
- This will open your Everything Debug Log.txt in notepad.
- Could you please send this file to support@voidtools.com
Re: Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
Many thanks!
Since the last reforced rebuild (due to missing indexing a week ago or so) it seems all of the files are indexed, like usual. So I am afraid the log might not show any of such problems.

Re: Why are some files not found / indexed / shown?
Thank you for the debug logs.
Everything is monitoring the I: drive and picking up the New Folder creation.
If you notice Everything missing changes again, could you please resend the debug logs:
