file not appearing that i'm seeing in windows explorer

Hello, there's a file I'm seeing in Windows Explorer that's not appearing when I search for it in Everything.

The file's located here:
C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\Vuze Downloads

I checked my excluded folders and this isn't excluded. And it's not an issue with file type. What could be the issue?
I just checked for other files in the folder and they're not appearing either, so that could be part of it.

I also wanted to ask - when I search for anything in Everything I get lots of unnecessary results that didn't appear on my old computer. I've created all sorts of exceptions to remove unnecessary results (which again wasn't necessary in my old computer), such as removing dll files etc. But there's still too much unnecessary stuff. For example I just typed in a name and I'm seeing .php files. I dont even know what that is. Are there any other exceptions I need to put in?

Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure these files are not excluded from Tools -> Options -> Exclude.



Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

Please try forcing a rebuild:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Indexes tab on the left.
• Click Force Rebuild.
• Click OK.

Everything 1.4 doesn't track changes to hard links.
The next Everything version will track changes to hard links.
Force a rebuild to pickup hard link changes.



Please let me know if the issue persists.

Are these files still being downloaded?
Everything will include that file when it is closed by the application (i.e. when the download is completed).

its working now, thanks! i rebuilt the index. that didnt fix it at first but i did nothing else and now it's good. perhaps restarting was part of the process

I am experiencing a similar issue: a folder and everything inside it are not being displayed in Everything. I have tried all the tips provided in the topic, but without success.

I tried using the portable version, and it worked perfectly. Then, I changed the settings in the installed version to match those of the portable version, but the problem persists.

I unchecked the exclude hidden and system files and now everything is working fine. I don't understand why this happened because the folder is an ordinary folder.
