Ghost drives attached but in reality it isn't attached to PC

I've just re-installed everything 1.5 v1332a but I keep seeing a previous K drive in the FAT section settings. I don't have the K drive plugged into my PC as can be seen in the screenshot. Why is everything still keeping old information ? The K drive is grayed out.

To remove your K: drive from your Everything index:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the FAT tab on the left.
• Select your K: drive and click Remove.
• Click OK.

To automatically remove offline FAT volumes:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the FAT tab on the left.
• Check Automatically remove offline volumes.
• Click OK.

This doesn't really solve the problem because, restarting the computer and doing the steps above, the K drive is still within the FAT index. The only thing is that it isn't enabled. The option to click remove is grayed out.

No, the K drive is not listed anywhere else as I had completely remove and uninstalled everything and installed everything 1.5a again. I have double checked in every option where the K drive could be located such as Exclude folder, Folders list, NTFS, ReFS, Network drive. The K drive isn't listed anywhere else.

Okay so I completely uninstalled everything once again using IOBit Uninstaller and it detected leftover files in the AppData folder and I deleted those as well. After re-installing, the K drive is gone. But Now another problem, I have a network drive Z: that I want to add to the folders list but the contents of that are not being shown. Again it just shows the path name in filename and it is grayed out.

I don't know how to add the network drive under Tools -> Options -> Network Drives because there's no add button everything is grayed out. So because of that, I tried to add the Z drive to Tools -> Options -> Folders and by doing that, the Z drive is grayed out in the results. I'm not sure what is wrong with this.

When I tried to uncheck run as administrator and I tried to restart everything, again at the top bar it shows the version number and [Administrator] even after I unchecked Run as administrator...What is going on here..I checked everything service according to the exact settings as you've detailed. When I restarted everything, the everything service was square box checked and run as admin is also square boxed checked.

yes it is, I've tried restarting and again it reverts back to the same settings.

Everything running as administrator is most likely causing all the trouble.


Now we need to work out why Everything is running as administrator.

Please make sure Everything is running as a standard user:

• Right click your Everything.exe or a shortcut to Everything
• Click Properties.
• Click the Compatibility tab.
• Uncheck Run this program as an administrator.
• Click OK.

Yes that's what my network drive is, webdav using an android app called WebDev server pro from The olive tree

Everything 1.5.0.1334a fixes an issue with parsing webdav devices.

Your mapped webdav device should now show up under Tools -> Options -> Network drives.
