unexpected behaviour? Or intended?

Post by kazzybash »

hi,

when starting up Everything 1.5 alpha 64 (latest version, I installed it as such that it totally replaces 'normal' Everything) I get the list of, well, everything on my machine. Let's say I select a filter (ext. txt), I then select in the 'folders' window a more specific location, say 'Downloads'. Works fine.

If after that I delete the filter from the bar, go back to 'Everything' in the 'folders' window I'd expect the list of everything on my computer to reappear. This is not so, I get a list of the drives on my machine (the same, obviously, as the ones in the 'folders' window on the left). In order to get everything I have to restart Everything or select a dedicated filter for it.

Question: is this correct? Is this the intended behaviour?

That is to be expected.
You can do one of the following:
- check the Subfolders box at the bottom of the Folders sidebar
- 'CTRL + click' on 'Everything.
- Double-click the "ROOT" text in the statusbar

thanks NotNull! the subfolders toggle worked

I do not understand these tips:

- 'CTRL + click' on 'Everything.

this does not generate anything, any change for me...

- Double-click the "ROOT" text in the statusbar

I do not see a root text in my statusbar

Either one of these options should do the trick.
After you toggled the subfolders box, there is no longer ROOT in the statusbar or any effect in CTRL-clicking Everything.

If you go through your steps again, you could test the other 2 options:
