Trigger rebuild of content index

Post by Graupunkt »

Hi,

i am currently playing around with ETP on server and i noticed that everything can only index file contents for office, if office is installed on that server?! So installed office, rebooted the server and rescanned all drive & network shares.

I have added a folder (network share) to include for content indexing (around 5k files, txt/doc/xls). Can i somehow trigger to re index the contents manually? I tried to rescan the whole network drive, but this didn't work for me.

Thanks and kind regards

With ETP, searches are performed on the server side.
Please try the Everything Server to perform searches on the client side (and index content on the client side)

Everything should automatically index the content for these newly added files if you have enabled content indexing.

Please try forcing a rebuild on the server side:
  • On the server, in Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
  • Click OK.
You cannot trigger a rebuild from the client side if that is what you are asking.
