Hi Guys,
I am running Everything 1.5 Alpha
Everything-1.5.0.1324a.x64
I have upgraded my PC to Windows 11.
Windows 11 version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.755)
The Everything menu at the top of the screen have stopped working
Whichever option I click on nothing happens.
No drop-down menu
Please see screenshot for clarification.
My other Apps word, irfanView, vlc media player, XYplorer
Are working OK.
I can’t see an obvious problem with the PC, I thought I would Post on here
And check and see if anyone else was experiencing problems
With the drop-down menu options?
TY

Re: Drop _Down_Menu_not _working?
I had the same strange effect after upgrading from Windows 10 to 11.
The problem was some settings in the Windows Theme.
After changing to another one all is fine.

Re: Drop _Down_Menu_not _working?
I am back to thank you once again horst.epp.
Your solution worked to fixing the drop-down menu.
But as a side effect of your solution it has fixed an unrelated problem with my PC.
My right mouse key was not functioning properly since I did the update.
And now everything is working perfectly.
Strange how themes can screw your PC up so badly?
I will image my PC now for good measure.
TY.

Hi All, new user here. laaubin
I'm having the same problem in that the drop-down menus are not working.
I am running Windows 11 Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2, OS build 22621.675
Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0
I don't know what version of Everything that I'm using other than it's the latest. (No help, no menu)
Can anyone tell me what the cure was to get the drop-down menus back? I would really appreciate that.
Thanks,
laaubin

(Right-click the Desktop and select Personalize to change the theme)
'CTRL + F1' should still give you the "About" window, which shows the version.

Did you read my solution above ?
It worked for me and others.

Re: Drop _Down_Menu_not _working?
I'm trying to understand this issue a little more..
I haven't had any luck producing the issue on my end.
My current theory is this is a high DPI issue.
Everything is only system DPI aware (not multiple monitor DPI aware)
If you hover over the menubar items are they highlighted?
(this may help indicate if Everything is receiving the correct mouse position)
For example: hovering over the Tools menubar item:
If you click a menu item, is the popup menu just hidden / not visible?
For example, if you click the File menubar item, press the up arrow once and press ENTER, does Everything exit?
This might indicate a visual issue with the popup menu.
Does the menu work if your set the theme to standard?
Press Ctrl + P
Click the Fonts and colors tab on the left.
Change the Theme to Standard.
Click OK.
Please try experimenting with the DPI settings for Everything:
Exit Everything
Right click a shortcut to Everything and click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Click Change high DPI settings.
Try enabling Use this setting to fix scaling problems.
Try enabling High DPI scaling override.
Click OK and restart Everything.

Re: Drop _Down_Menu_not _working?
As I had this problem it behaved like this
I could select a top level menu but no entries are shown.
I could use enter or other characters to get some reaction.
There are no multi monitor setup here and I had 125% scaling.
The problem was not only in Everything but also in Total Commander and XYplorer menu.
After I selected another theme in Windows 11 all problems where gone.
Scaling is now at 100% as recommented.
