32-bit version of Everything? Try the 64-bit version instead.

Please try rebuilding your Everything database:
  • Exit Everything (File -> Exit).
  • In Windows Explorer, type in the following address and press ENTER:
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
  • Delete your Everything.db
  • Restart Everything
Does the issue persist?

Deleting the db didn't help, but it appears I might have picked up the x86 version by mistake? Have reinstalled the 64b and am trying again...

The x86 version will be limited to 2GB RAM. (even if you have more RAM available)

A common cause for high ram usage is showing many thumbnails or indexing 10s of millions of files.
Each thumbnail will consume 256 KB.

@IanWorthington, was 1018 x86 or x64 ?
