When a search is conducted the results show two entries for each item.
Help please.

Re: Double Results
Please remove duplicated indexes from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Folders.
These duplicated indexes have most likely already been included as NTFS indexes in Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> NTFS.

Re: Double Results
I have drive C set to be indexed (with all options enabled). If I search for regedit.exe (C:\Windows\regedit.exe), the real file is not shown by Everything, just the copies in the C:\Windows\WinSxS folder. Then some files in the C:\Windows\System32 folder will instead show files in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder. If I add C:\Windows to Indexes > Folders, the real regedit.exe file is found, but then I get duplicate entries for other file names, i.e. regedit.exe.mui. Is there a way to make Everything show all true file locations without getting duplicated entries shown in the search results list, or is this a limitation with Windows itself?void wrote:Please remove duplicated indexes from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Folders.

AFAIK there is no "true", IOW what is the "original" & what is a link is not determinable.
As it is currently, Everything will find one link.
Work-arounds may get what you're looking for (or not quite in your case).
I seem to recall other threads where the hope for future versions was to find all links to a file...

Re: Double Results
This is a limitation with Everything.
Currently Everything does not index hardlinks.
This will be fixed in the next release.

Re: Double Results
Eight years later and this fix still worked for me. I have no idea why the settings changed, but it was easy to remedy thanks to you! I still love this little tool and use it dozens of times every day.
