Possible to have thumbnails cached?
Possible to have thumbnails cached?
When searching for results that include pictures or videos, Everything has to continuously re-load the thumbnails for the results, making searching very slow when looking for a specific piece of media. Is there a way to have the thumbnails cached along with the database so they could be loaded quicker?
Re: Possible to have thumbnails cached?
I have the K-Lite Codec package installed which comes with the Icaros thumbnail provider.
This includes caching which also works for me in Everything.

Re: Possible to have thumbnails cached?
Everything uses the OS to gather thumbnails.
The OS should be caching your thumbnails.
Windows 10 thumbnail cache has a small maximum size.
AFAIK, this cannot be changed..
Please make sure you are running Everything as a standard user:
Please try resetting your system icon cache.
Are the files local or on the network?
Please try disabling automatic maintenance from clearing your thumbnail cache
Please try increasing your request_extra_fileinfo_end:

Please try increasing your request_extra_fileinfo_end:
- Copy and paste the following into your Everything search box:
/request_extra_fileinfo_end=256 - Press ENTER in the Everything search box.
- If successful, request_extra_fileinfo_end=256 is shown in the status bar for a few seconds.
- Everything will now load the thumbnails for an extra 256 files that are "offscreen".
