Hi,
Is the idea that if I select a file e.g. word doc you get a preview like I do in outlook for an attachment?
I don't seem to get any preview, neither in Everything or windows explorer. Checked and I'm not running everything as Administrator & have re-set any ticked settings back to default.
Thanks

Re: Previewer
Yes, you should get a preview in both Everything and Windows Explorer.
You will need to have office installed.
Please try reinstalling Office.

Re: Previewer
Hi, thanks for the reply.
I've done a quick repair on Office 365 and the previewer is now working for windows explorer but not for Everything. Would you still say do a re-install?

Re: Previewer
Please try restarting Everything (File -> Exit).
Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything.
Please make sure Everything is running as a standard user.

Re: Previewer
Hi,
If there's nothing obvious I will re-install Office however, I don't get a preview for pdfs either, only for jpgs but suppose its not really a preview I'm just viewing as a thumbnail.
Thanks

Re: Previewer
You're displaying Details.
If you enable the Preview pane (View | Preview; Alt+P) do you then see the preview in Everything?
Oh, you do have Preview enabled.
Can't tell by your screenshot, but is the Preview pane itself actually visible?
It is possible (I believe) in 1.4, for the pane to be dragged fully to the right, in which case it would not be "visible".
(You should be able to move your mouse towards the right hand side & drag it to the left so that it becomes visible.)

Re: Previewer
There might be a broken prevhost process still running.
Please try killing all prevhost.exe processes and restarting Everything.

Re: Previewer
Hi,
Sorry meant to send screenshot of previewer ticked.Did expand all columns only when doing ALT P that could see the scroll bar wiggle ...expanded it now! However, doesn't preview pdfs but windows explorer will?....I'm using pdf24 as default.

Re: Previewer
Everything uses the same "engine" as Windows Explorer to show previews (except for most picture formats; those are handled by Everything internally.
So usually that means that if previews are working in File Explorer, they are shown in Everything too.
Exceptions:
You are running Everything as administrator. This is the most common cause. Your setup looks OK, but to be sure:
You installed the Microsoft PowerToys File Explorer add-ons to add preview handlers for (amongst others) PDF- and source code files.
These are *very* buggy in their current state and using them outside of File Explorer causes all sorts of mayhem.
(uninstalling them causes even more issues, btw)

- In Everything: type /debug in the search bar and press ENTER
(the debug console will open) - Right-click the title bar of the debug console and select Edit > Mark (CTRL + M)
- Scroll to the top of the debug results
- Find the line with IsAdmin (5th line here)
Does it say IsAdmin 0 or IsAdmin 1? - Press 'ESCAPE' in the debug console
- In Everything: type /debug in the search bar and press ENTER
(the debug console will close) - Done
