Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
Good idea, I'll add one to open the folder where Everything.exe is located.
For everyone else, these are search commands:
http://www.voidtools.com/support/everyt ... h_commands
http://www.voidtools.com/support/everyt ... wnfolderid

exist currently?
Consider also to add it to tray icon menu.

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
shell:Everything doesn't exist yet.
Adding a known shell folder requires modifying the system. Something I would rather avoid doing. It looks like it can be done manually by modify the registry and generating a GUID.
The following about search functions are in development:
about:exe -open the folder location of your Everything.exe that is currently running.
about:db -open the folder location where your Everything.db is stored.
about:home -search with the "home" settings
I'll consider adding an option to the tray context menu.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
about:exe it's fine enough.
about:home - it seems it is already work for me (v969), though I'm not actually understand why a user need it. Home is already under Menu| View > GoTo (Alt+Home) , and a hotkey also can be set.
Maybe there is a planning to have an option to remove the menu bar...
In this case I would say to make search commands like the menu flow, something like:
about:View>GoTo>Home
menu:View>GoTo>Home
It's actually will require to make enabled both English and Local language for these commands.
If we comparing to a web-browser - web-browsers suggest a Home button for "the default search" - more correctly - HomePage button.
Tested in FIrefox, about:home gives me the Firefox about:newtab which is a different thing from the HomePage.
Maybe Everything "Home" should also be divided to:
1. Start Page - What is appearing at Everything launch (a special page of TopMost/Recent Searches and TopMost/Recent Run s, that will take the place of the results till the first type).
2. Default Search - Home Search (Alt+Home)
I also found in FIrefox:
about:about
list all the about: commands

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
I'm not too sure about:db will stick, this may end up showing the database statistics page.
It might be useful if you have a home search and want to reference it quickly.
There will be an option to remove the menu bar.
You will be able to access the menu bar from right clicking the window caption or toolbar.
Tabs are still in development. I will try to mimic what most webbrowsers do: allow home to specify multiple tabs searches and support for customizing a new tab search.
Added to my TODO list: about:about should show all search commands.
Thanks for the suggestions.
The home search is basically a bookmark, and the about:home search is a built-in macro for this bookmark.about:home - it seems it is already work for me (v969), though I'm not actually understand why a user need it. Home is already under Menu| View > GoTo (Alt+Home) , and a hotkey also can be set.

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
More 2 commands I tried intuitively to get the about dialog:
about:?
about:help
about:config (btw about:ini doesn't work)
about:exe
Is there a chance that users will have ability to add commands to tray icon context menu?
about:?
about:help
2 commands I want to add to tray icon context menu are:Consider also to add it to tray icon menu.

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
The next alpha update will have an about:? and about:help aliases for about:about
I will consider an about:ini alias for about:config
I will consider support for tray context menu customization.
Thank you for the suggestions.

Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
I think I understand you.
about:ini can also be alias for about:ini-location
in similar way to
about:exe
about:exe-location
1. I think it's okay to do about:ini like about:ini-location, it does not matter so much, the user will get what he wants.
2. I see not all aliases are documented in about dialog
3. Consider to support trimming of spaces before and after " about: " , in case a user type about: command with spaces.
Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
I will consider about:ini as an alias for about:ini-location.1. I think it's okay to do about:ini like about:ini-location, it does not matter so much, the user will get what he wants.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I will document all search commands and aliases here:2. I see not all aliases are documented in about dialog
Search Commands
I would like to keep the Everything Search Commands help basic.
I will consider allowing a space after about:3. Consider to support trimming of spaces before and after " about: " , in case a user type about: command with spaces.
thank you for the suggestions.
Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
I would prefer the full list (with a search in header). But if you want to make it basic (a short list of basic commands), put in about: dialog a link/url where the user can find the full list.I would like to keep the Everything Search Commands help basic.
3. maybe better example:
"about:config "
" about:config"
Re: How to open EXE location within from Everything SearchBar?
I will consider showing all aliases.
I will consider relaxing the syntax. (ignore spaces)
Thank you for the suggestions.
