Search in MP3 or flac tags

Hi,

i hope i didn't miss it, but is there a possibility to search only in the tags (not filenames!!) of mp3 and or flac files?

Please let me know.

To search ID3 tags, please try the following search functions:

• album:<text>
• artist:<text>
• comment:<text>
• genre:<text>
• title:<text>
• track:<number>
• year:<number>

For example:
album:"my album"
artist:"John Doe"
Genre:"Electronic"
title:"My title"
track:9
year:1990..1999

thank you for your answer.
But searching in tags with your showed pattern does not work properly. It takes some minutes to get a result.
I thought this would be as fast as searching for filenames but it tis so slow!!!
Do i have to make some special settings to get faster results?

In Everything 1.4, this information is not stored in the database, so it will be slow.
To speed this up, limit the amount of files Everything has to check.
You can do so by:
- specifying a start-folder (c:\music)
- specifying a file-type (ext:mp3;flac or audio:)
- specifying other characteristics of the files, like date or size. See the Everything Search Syntax for options.


In Everything 1.5 - the alpha version is available for testing - you can save these properties in the database, giving you instant results.

What do consider tags? And what was/were your search query/queries?

I once tried to search for music in this way, but the tags don't work well. Probably not many people mark tags, so it's hard to find a song this way.
