Whilst indexing properties is running and I try to exit my main instance of Everything, the tray icon disappears but doesn't actually exit, it keeps running. I have to stop it by killing the process in task manager.
I assume it's something to do with indexing properties?

Re: Everything not exiting
What properties are you indexing under Tools -> Options -> Properties?
Everything should stop indexing properties when it is closed.
The next time Everything is started, it will resume indexing properties from where it left off.
It's possible a shell extension is not responding, causing Everything to hang on shutdown.
Could you please send some debug output:

Could you please send some debug output:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, check Console.
- From the File menu, click Exit.
- What is shown in the debug console when Everything fails to exit?
(right click the console window title bar and click Edit -> Select All, Right click the selected text to copy it to the clipboard)
Re: Everything not exiting
Thanks, It's definitely to do with the indexing as when I paused indexing, Everything exited OK.
I'm indexing,
Binary type
Date changed
File signature
Product version
Total ADS size on disk
Version
Version number, and I think I made some changes to excludes.
I'll send you the debug output.

Re: Everything not exiting
I've had to let indexing complete at it takes such a long time. The problem has now gone away but I'll start anothe4 instance and index it so that I can generate a debug output.
I know that this has been asked before, but do you have plans, if it's at all possible, to change the way indexing behaves? It seems to index from scratch every time I make the smallest change, such as changing an entry in exclusions or adding a property.

Re: Everything not exiting
For efficiency and performance reasons, Everything is currently designed to set the index options once.if it's at all possible, to change the way indexing behaves?
Changing any index setting will require a rebuild.
I will consider an option to not reindex, but expect high RAM usage, high CPU usage and the search to be much slower.
Thank you for your suggestion.
