Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
Currently if you click a folder in the Folder Bar then right-click another folder to do an action (eg rename) it appears to select the other folder for the action but actually applies it to the current one - probably worth fixing early on as a person could eg delete the wrong folder this way - d

I can't replicate this...seems OK. Are you sure that the original folder isn't highlighted?

Perhaps it could be easier saying A & B as it may be the original explanation was ambiguous...
Left click folder A (makes it current)
Right-click folder B (highlights B and menu comes up)
Choose 'Rename'
A is actioned the rename rather than B...
hopefully you'll find that too.......

Re: Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
Just realised, I'm using 1304..I didn't know 1305 had been released. I'll install 1305 and try again.
It's definitely working with 1304.
I assume you didn't have this problem with previous version?
Btw, I'm using x64, possibly a problem with x86?

This has got me intrigued..I can't replicate this at all, Everything is working as expected.
I'm using Windows 7..Don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
Only as of version 1.5.0.1304a is it possible to rename/edit a folder via the context menu entry "Rename" in the folder bar.
E.g. with version 1.5.0.1303a this context menu entry was also available, but the folder could not be edited in the folder bar.

Re: Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
Thanks for the bug report.
The issue with renaming the wrong item will be fixed in the next alpha update.
I am currently working on the folder sidebar so there's bound to be issues.
Thank you for testing the folder sidebar and reporting any issues.
Drag drop support and context menu support was added in 1304a.
Right click -> New folder was added in 1305a.
I have made a thread dedicated to the folder sidebar here:

In that case:
- Select multiple folder (3+) in the Folders sidebar
- de-select one of these folders using 'CTRL + left-click'.
That will have the effect of a slow double-click and sends the remaining fodlers to the multi-file renamer.

Re: Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
Would it be possible to have desktop showing in the folder bar rather than having to navigate to it each time?
Similar to the Windows navigation pane.

I plan to add a favourites folder where you can add 'filters', eg: c:\users\user\Desktop, or combined folders eg: C:\Program Files|C:\Program Files (x86)Would it be possible to have desktop showing in the folder bar rather than having to navigate to it each time?

Thanks for the suggestion.
For now, please try the -explore command line option.
I'll add a /explore search command in the next alpha update so you can use bookmarks.

Thanks, with favourites, do you mean something like this?
The bottom half of the screen shot is how the navigation on Windows shows the desktop.

Re: Folder Bar right-click non-current item - 1.5.0.1305a (x86)
My own preference would be to have Favourites in their own pane. Perhaps it could be docked above folders as default and shrinkable to a heading (likewise Folders could be shrinkable to a heading), although some might like a movable docking. One of the horrors of Explorer is the extreme clutter and chaotic mess that has resulted by mixing the folder tree with a huge miscellany of other things, and the annoyance of having to scroll all the way to the top to get to such things as the Quick Access and then find your way back to where you were again, when the Quick Access should be always readily available (just by a click if shrunk) and easily able to have items of the folder tree dragged onto it, which would be made possible by having its own pane...
