hi,
when using Everything I regularly come across the situation that in Everything I selected a file for copying and copied it (got it on the clipboard I mean) and then I want to paste it to a folder that is in the same Everything-window, just under my nose. That is: the folder itself may not be directly in sight, but I do see files of which I know for a fact (or indeed can see in their path in my current Everything-window) in which specific folder they reside and I want to paste my file on the clipboard to just that folder.
My question: how is it possible to add a paste-option 'paste file on clipboard to folder' which would get to work when highlighting in Everything the file the path of which I am aiming at?
Obviously typing something in the searchbar or opening new Explorer Windows would work, but that is regular and I want it the fastest way possible.
I have zero knowledge of how Windows 10 explorer handles copying, maybe this is more of a Windows feature than an Everything-feature. Also I added a screendump of what a part of my rightclick menu looks like. I do not even know whether that is an Everything menu or a Windows explorer menu (although I think the first).
Thanks in advance, regards, Kazzy

Re: Option: 'paste to folder containing this file' ?
Thank you for your post kazzybash,
I am confused, doesn't the D:\ -> Paste option do exactly this? (shown in your screenshot)

Re: Option: 'paste to folder containing this file' ?
omg void, I am the one who was confused in the first place .
Let's interpret this as a very extensive way of asking for help, ok? Fumbling around a bit more shows me even more filehandling goodness (being able to walk the path down all the way to the driveletter) than I was asking for.
Sorry!!
Regards Kazzy

Re: Option: 'paste to folder containing this file' ?
This sounds like "Parent Paste", and it's a feature already supported in Everything 1.5 Alpha.
You can do this with a hotkey binding, or with the context menus within everything when you right-click on any object.
Go to Options -> Keyboard -> type 'paste' where it says "Show commands containing" and then select "Result List | Parent | Paste" and assign a key combination to it. This will allow you to paste any copied object to the currently selected object's location, as a sibling. If you assign a key to "Result List | Hot Item Parent | Paste" then it will paste to the currently mouse-hovered object's location without having to click/select the object first.
Also, regular Ctrl+V paste works if your selected object is a folder. The copied file gets pasted into that folder.
Otherwise, in the right-click context menu of any selected object, you'll see the name of the parent folder near the top of the context menu. Beneath that submenu is the Paste verb. That works the same as Parent Paste.
Edit: Sometimes I'm slow and get distracted while typing.
