Interrupted Paste Is Logged by Undo History
not a big deal, but...
on a (copy from Everything & a subsequent) (Windows) [Parent] Paste
if the Paste is interrupted
- Undo History, shows a (purported, successful) Copy [as it was] (from X: to Y:)
- Index Journal, shows a File Create (on Y:), followed by a subsequent (at interruption), File Delete (on Y:)
similarly...
> C:\out\fast\GB99 Teil 1.TXT
Ctrl+C a file, [Parent Paste] navigate to C:, Paste
- at which point you'll get a dialog like:
"You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy to this folder"
(as the root of C: is "protected")
Cancel that dialog.
Undo History shows, "Copy 'GB991 Teil 1.TXT" (to) C:
(Where in fact, nothing was copied. Index Journals show nothing regarding this, in this instance.)
Interrupted Paste Is Logged by Undo History
Re: Interrupted Paste Is Logged by Undo History
When agreeing to add paste actions to the undo history, @void stated that Everything cannot determine success or failure, only intent, so we need to take it with a grain of salt.
void wrote:I've added basic support for undo history when pasting in the next alpha update.
It's not perfect, because Everything doesn't know if the paste was successful.
(There's no feedback from the "paste" verb)
