From where can I obtain the source of Everything?

Post by zhaohs »

Hi David,

From where can I obtain the source of Everything?
Does it have a svn or cvs repo?

Best regards.

Such a nice software, loving it, but it will be great if we see how you did that.

IMO:
Everything is the only thing that keeps me on windows side.

Note to Author:
Seriously you should consider releasing it open source. It may help develop even more advanced technologies. Other FS, tag based searching, hell even a improved shell.

Just my 2 cents..

*hopes you switch to the community side*

Ivan Rodriguez , 110% agreed.
Everything should be for everyone :) (still best tool even it is closed source)

It should be open-source and a merger of locate32 + everything (features) will create a superb tool for everyone.

I also would like change/add/participate in this wonderful application. There is much benefit for everyone if everything source code is released.

i suggest either case:
- Release the source code.
or
- Become shareware for small price. This implies active development.

best wishes and regard to the authors and all that make this place tick

I'd love to see the source code of Everything!
Please release the code. Even if under some "view only" license.

I've been using it for five years and I'm totally in love with it.
Thank you so much for Everything!

Hi David,

do you have plans to provide a source code license?

I was planing to write a fast file system scanner handling symbolic links and junction points in a user definable way.
It is a private project for my personal use, nothing commercial.

Everything will contain 99% of the code which I was planned to write.

If you have no near term plans is it possible to get a beta or RC of the source release perhaps with a non disclosure agreement?

If you are into searching like Everything does, check out
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ntfs-search/

Same idea but Everything is a much, much better application ;)

Hey, um, not to revive a dead thread or anything, but have you put any thought into that lately? It's been round about a decade, and I'm sure we'd all love to see it and/or contribute. Not sure if you're still actively working on this tool, but it's by far the most useful tool on my PC, and I'd love to see its source code.

Then you are probably running a *very* old version of Everything!

Take a look at the links below to get an impression on how actively Everything is being developed.
