properties indexed but not showing in search

Post by MS7681 »

Maybe I am doing this wrong but I added the folder for indexing and added 'contributing artists' for the properties... waited for a bit and it all indexed.
When I search for the file containing the artist, it doesn't show up:

But as you can see, when I search just the file it shows up:

When I search in windows 'ultrabeat', the same indexed folder, it shows all files with the contributing artist:

As you can see, I have the folder added for indexing and also the properties (I tried all Artist/Artists/Contributing Artists):

I also tried Artist/Artists/Contributing Artists

Maybe I am stupid and I'm not supposed to search like this? How do I make the search include 'artist' and 'title' then?
(Btw don't worry I have bought this music album)
Please help me and don't remove this post... because people might think I download this music and they get very angry.... but I need help! :( :( :(

Right-click anywhere on the column headers, select from the context menu "Contributing artists". It should appear in this menu midway down since you added it as an index property.

Now that the "Contributing artists" column has been added, right-click on its column header and select "Search by Contributing artists" from the menu. Or just use the following search prefix, contributing-artists:. Example:

contributing-artists:ultrabeat

contributing-artists:"green day"

It would be kinda cool if select columns could be added to the general keyword search without having to specify.

Wow this actually answers and explains my question I almost wanna cry because that almost never happens on the internet   thank you very much
Just the artist tag works so I type artist:name and it's much easier

To make it easier to type, try the following command to define a custom macro.

/define ca=contributing-artists:

Now you can type this instead.

ca:ultrabeat

If you change your mind, you can remove this macro.

/undef ca
