if some one compare latest version of everything with for example 1.3.4.686 -
then we will see that the search in the latest version has slowed down significantly. Yes, the search is still fast, but in for example 1.3.4.686 version - the search is lightning fast. And in the latest version it became just fast - that is, it slowed down several times in compare with for example 1.3.4.686. - I draw conclusions in an 8 TB filled with ~65% capacities (Everything say that below that searching around 2 105 545 objects).
but still i tried new version and go back because it strange - go to new version and get slowdown...
new versions of Everything is slower
Re: new versions of Everything is slower
Sorry but a compare with the very old version 1.3.4.686 is almost useless.
The current alpha 1.5 or the actual version 1.4 have no delay after indexing is finished.

Re: new versions of Everything is slower
Thank you for your feedback lpslp2,
Could you please send some debug output from Everything 1.4?
Please make sure no search options are enabled under the Search menu. (disable regex, disable match path)
To close the debug console:
There might be a memory usage issue...
Everything 1.4 will use slightly more ram than Everything 1.3.
Is your system low on available memory?
To reduce the memory usage of Everything 1.4, please see Optimal settings for Everything 1.4.
Please try Everything 1.5 (in development).
Searching in Everything 1.5 should be much faster than Everything 1.3 and 1.4.
Everything 1.4+ will use multiple threads to search.
Please make sure your CPU is not throttled. (CPU slowed due to overheating)

Re: new versions of Everything is slower
i tested 1.5 alpha and it even faster than ALL others versions. And because of that(movement in right direction...) i dont run /debug - because i think if in 1.5 problems solved - there is no need to spend time "here"void wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 8:35 am
