Using space bar

Post by harryray2 »

I'm using a programme called quicklook, it enables me to view files by pressing the space bar.

I tried using it from within Everything but highlighting a file and pressing the bar has no effect. Any way round this please?

If you are using Everything 1.5, please try running Everything without the Everything alpha instance.

Ensure Everything is running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Everything service.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.
Note: Quicklook copies the file to the clipboard when selecting a result in Everything, which might cause undesired results.

I'm using 1.5 and I also have another instance running using the same service.

Pressing the space bar doesn't seem to copy Everything to the clipboard, it doesn't do anything at all.

I'll try the without alpha instance but what does this do?

Thanks.

Disabling the Everything 1.5 alpha instance will use a different window classname.

Quicklook might be looking for a specific Everything classname.

Everything normally uses the classname: EVERYTHING
Everything 1.5a will use the classname: EVERYTHING (1.5a)
