Long time user of Everything. Got a new work laptop and started a fresh install. Ver 1.1.1009. Using folder indexing with Everything Service (not running as an administrator),
I use this program to index mapped network drives that I access over my work VPN. This has worked in the past.
In my new rig, the indexing stops after a short time of indexing. It grabs ~80,000 files, but this is less than 10% of my folder. Each mapped drive is a few TB. It does index my entire hard drive. I also tried adding a sub-folder on one of mapped drives, and again it will start, but stop without completing.
There are a total of just over 700,000 files indexed, and whatever I do it always seems to stop at a roughly similar total number of files.
Not sure if this is an Everything problem, or if my work's VPN or network are stopping the service somehow. I also have a local PC at my workplace with Everything on it, and that indexes all the local mapped drives that I'm trying to also do remotely.
Anybody seen this problem?
THanks!
Incomplete file folder indexing

- Wait for Everything to complete the rebuild (check the status bar for progress)
- In Everything, type in the following and press ENTER:
/restart
---this will stop debug logging. - Open your Everything Debug Log.txt from %TEMP%
- What was the last folder scanned? it should look something like:
scan \\server\share\path\to\a\folder - Is there anything significant about this folder? how many files are in this folder? what is the path length?
- Are there any other paths missing? please check the final root path that was scanned.
