keeping filters enabled across searches

If I search for an item and set a filter from the dropdown box the filter resets itself on the next search...Is there any way round this?

I normally do a dc:last1mins followed by a dm:last1mins....on the first search I choose my firefox filter but when I do the next search the filter reverts to Everything.

Normally the filter should never change.

Have you accidentally set a shortcut key to your Everything filter?:

• In Everything, from the Search menu, click Organize filters....
• Select the Everything filter.
• Click Edit...
• Please make sure the Keyboard shortcut is blank.
• Click OK.

Are you closing the window between searches?

Please check your home filter:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Home tab on the left.
• Change Filter to (use last value).
• Click OK.

Check all your filters and bookmarks for any keyboard shortcuts.
