I am a new user and cannot find SCANPST.EXE with Everything.
The file does exist in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\SCANPST.EXE". It does not appear to be a hidden file.
Any help would be appreciated. I am sure this is just a newbie mistake on my part.
Thanks,
Don
Can't find SCANPST.EXE - but it does exist
Re: Can't find SCANPST.EXE - but it does exist
Take a look in the FAQ: Search doesn't find what I want
Most likely cause: you (accidentally) pressed one of the keyboard shortcuts that activates one of the Match .. search options.

Re: Can't find SCANPST.EXE - but it does exist
Well, I found the problem myself. For some reason the Options settings for Indexes had the "Enable Exclude List" selected but, there weren't any entries in any of the boxes. See the screen capture below.
I simply unchecked the "Enable Exclude List" box and the issue went away. I can now see the SCANPST.EXE file in the search listing.
Sorry to bother everyone...
