filter exclusion

Hello
I would like my search not to show link type extensions. I added an exclusion filter by specifying * .lnk but it does not work. Where is the error?

You might be excluding folders only?

To exclude .lnk files:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Exclude tab on the left.
• Change exclude files to:
  *.lnk
• Click OK
  

Does the issue persist?
