On my old computer I was able to see preview of searched comic files with extensions CBR and CBZ. Now, on the new one I cannot. I was looking for solution and found a topic on this board to "add cbr and cbz as part of compression filter". I have created filter for both of these files but I cannot see preview of listed files with this extensions.
I would appreciate if someone can help. Thanks.
Preview of CBR and CBZ files
Re: Preview of CBR and CBZ files
The previewing of files is actually a Windows feature that Everything uses.
If you can preview the file in File Explorer, you can preview it in Everything (and if not visible in Everything: that is fixable).
You will need to install a preview handler for these .cbr and .cbz files. In general, preview handlers are installed as part of a program. For example: If you install Adobe Reader, that will also install a preview handler.
Some other preview handlers are already part of Windows itself, like those that handle .txt or .bmp files. But .cbr/.cbz are not one of those.
Long story short:
Check if you can preview the .cbr/.cbz files in File Explorer.
If yes: report here and we will supply instructions how to "fix" Everything.
If not, you should check your old computer to find out which program you used there to view these files. And install that on the new computer too.

Re: Preview of CBR and CBZ files
Thanks a lot for your reply. It made me recheck my settings. It turned to be a very banal one in my Explorer settings I (somehow) had option - "Always show icons, never thumbnails option" - on. Fixed and works like charm

(and thanks for your feedback!)

I can preview all cbr/cbz in File Explorer using CDisplayEX as the handler. I get nothing ever in Everything.NotNull wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:28 pm Long story short:
