Everything locked when copying or moving a file

Post by Darkwolf »

Hello,

I discovered a strange behavior of Everything while copying or moving a file :

-First, I make a search about the dedicated file within Everything.
-Everything gives me the list of files that might interest me.
-I choose the wanted file from the list.
-I make a right clic and select "move to..." or "copy to" (these options are available in a right clic with a tweak, and are shortcuts from the ribbon).
-During the copy (or move) of the file, the Everything window is locked, I can no longer use it until the end of the process.

I'd just like to know if it's a normal behaviour, or if I missed an option in the settings.

Thanks in advance.

Currently, Copying/moving in Everything is a blocking operation.

I plan to make this a non-blocking operation in a future release.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Cool! How did you do that?

These tweaks are available with Ultimate Windows Tweaker, or you can just add some commands with Regedit ;-)

Nice!

(although I thought you found a way to add Everything's Copy to folder .. / Move to folder ... to the context menu (Menu:Edit > Copy to folder). But after reading more closely, I should have known better as you mentioned the ribbon)

Thanks!
