tray single-click behavior

Hello, when I single-click on E. tray icon the UI correctly pops-up and a taskbar tab appears.
I would expect that when I click again either the tray icon or taskbar-tab, the UI would get hidden again; but nothing happens instead.

I'm putting it into suggestions since though I feel like a bug, it might not be

(I don't seem to have any System Tray icons that behave like that.
Though I guess an option to do that couldn't hurt. But what do you do if you have multiple Everything windows open? Minimize the last, only?)

There is an option in Options>UI to enable multiple windows by click on Everything tray icon.
This suggestion might be implemented when this option is disabled.

XP.
Desktop, so no battery.
Speaker isn't a toggle as much as clicking away from it causes it to close.
Network, opens 'Local Area Connection Status' window.
A subsequent click of the tray icon does not close that window.

Toggling Everything from the system tray would be nice. That is if Everything is focused, clicking on the tray icon again would minimize it.

I ran into problems when trying to detect if Everything had focus when clicking the system tray icon.
Unfortunately, the focus is given to the system tray when you click on the Everything tray icon.
This makes it difficult to determine if Everything had focus before clicking on the tray icon.

If you have a single window open, clicking the Everything taskbar button should minimize this window if it has focus.
As for multiple windows opened, clicking the taskbar button will list all the open windows.
This is the default behavior.

Thanks for the HotkeyP link.

Clicking on the tray icon for HotkeyP hides the window when it doesn't have focus, this is something I'm trying to avoid.

I don't really understand why. It seems to me this is the exactly desired behaviour.
When the window is open:
Click on the Taskbar button = Focus/Minimze/Restore
Click on the Tray Icon = Close|Minimze to tray (No matter what the Focus is)

I agree with manu, I would prefer that click on tray icon would hide the UI and taskbar button both when Everything is in focus and when it isn't.
It appears that currently (Version 1.4.1.935 (x64)), it doesn't do this in either case.

I think it's only requires to improve the Disabled mode of this feature:
UI > Create a new window from the system tray

More advanced than that I guess will require Everything to support combinations of Keyboard+Mouse when setting Hotkeys.
(Win / Alt / Shift / Ctrl)
(LeftClick / MiddleClick / RightClick)

I think it's actually means to add Mouse tab in Options.

To enable toggling of the Everything search Window from the tray icon:
In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/toggle_window_from_tray_icon=1


This is not perfect because of the detection method used to determine if
Everything had focus after clicking the tray icon. (Clicking the tray icon
gives focus to the taskbar)

To enable single click tray icon:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the UI tab on the left.
• Check Single click tray.
• Click OK.
