For some reason if I double click on a video file in Everything the video will start playing out of alignment and stuck to the upper left corner of the media player window like this: https://imgur.com/a/8qCMcYM. Persists in fullscreen mode.
Happens in both MPC and VLC but not GOM Player Plus or Win 10 Films & Video native app. I noticed it first started up when I added MadVR Home Cinema http://madvr.com/ to get proper colour sampling for 4K video files on MPC.
However if I open the file from File Explorer or if I open MPC or VLC first and then open the file or drag and drop video file into player window, it plays normal. Only happens if I try to open the video directly by double clicking in Everything.
It has to be something that MadVR did to Everything but I don't understand what or why. Any help appreciated.
Video alignment error open file with Everything
Re: Video alignment error open file with Everything
Is the preview pane open (View -> Preview) -This could be hanging onto a handle.
Are you using thumbnails (View -> Thumbnails) -These could be hanging onto a handle.
Are you running Everything as an administrator?
Please try running Everything as a standard user:

Please try running Everything as a standard user:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Everything service.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.
Re: Video alignment error open file with Everything
Thank you void for the reply.
Unfortunately none of that is the case. Running Everything in details mode with no preview pane.
Everything is running as a service and "run as administrator" is unchecked.
Ran it in the opposite configuration (thumbnails on, service off, administrator on) and got the same result.
It's not the end of the world but it is pretty annoying. Since your program is so AWESOME, I use it for literally...uh... everything?!?
I'll reach out to MadVR to see if they have any suggestions.

Re: Video alignment error open file with Everything
Thanks for checking.
Please check if Everything is running as administrator:
0 = means Everything is running as a standard user.
To close the debug console:
Everything opens files with ShellExecuteExW with a ITEMIDLIST (SEE_MASK_IDLIST) using the NULL verb.
(I use MadVR too and have never seen this issue)
Please check if Everything is running as administrator:
- In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/debug - At the top of the debug console should be a line:
IsAdmin x - Is x 1 or 0?
0 = means Everything is running as a standard user.
To close the debug console:
- In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/debug
