FAT32

Post by tedlauts »

I understand the process of using "Everything>Tools>Options>Folder>add [u3:\]" to have Everything read a FAT32 file in '''''''USB DEVICE and successfully used it to search a USB drive but I am puzzled as to why the same process does not allow entry of {U3:\] at the present time and presently have no idea where to look for a resolution of this problem. Does the option need to be "re-installed" each time I use Everything or will adding the option just once suffice for all future uses?

I working on automatically indexing FAT volumes for a future release of Everything.

I don't understand. What happens? Is the volume not visible in Everything?
Does the option need to be "re-installed" each time I use Everything or will adding the option just once suffice for all future uses?
Everything should remember your Everything>Tools>Options>Folder settings between sessions.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.
