Gremlins attacking my desktop

Post by db17 »

Back from 2 weeks out of the country, suddenly, Everything is not finding tons of files. uninstalled, and tried to re-install with 64, 86, etc... every time an error installing; some kind of "admin" problem.
Running Windows 10.

Any/all feedback appreciated deeply.

Thank you,

Dan

And the files are in fact there?

Just "admin", anything else?

So at this point, you're not even installed?

The Everything Service might be busy and/or pending deletion.

Please try the following:
  • Uninstall Everything.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Reinstall Everything.

First,

Thank you so much for the responses. A bit more info:

I can't install for a 64, despite my 'puter being a 64.

Error message EVERY time I try is "failed to execute admin command"

Seriously, I'm appreciative of any/all feedback.

I'll try rebooting as well.

If that fails..........what to do?

Thank you

This error usually occurs when you have set your UAC setting to never notify.

Please try the msi installer:
https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/

If that doesn't work, please try running the installer as an administrator:
  • Right click your Everything-Setup.exe and click Run as administrator.
If that doesn't work, please try setting your UAC setting to to default:
  • From the Control panel, open User accounts.
  • Click Change User Account settings.
  • Select Default and click OK.
