Under Options, Volume tab, under "Enable USN Journal Logging"
The help tip on hovering READS:
The Maximum size: "8192 by default"
Allocation delta: "1024 by default"
Yet this is what mine is set at:
The Maximum size: 1024 KB
Allocation delta: 256 KB
Should I change it to the 8192/1024 values?
I don't know if the hovering help tip is telling you what the MS default is (and Everything has chosen a "better" 1024/256 setting), or if the hover tip is telling me the default for EVERYTHING's setup (as it does for the "checkbox" options with default: enabled or disabled).
I DID search a bit on the forum - and saw some really HUGE recommended sizes in some of the posts, WAY beyond what Everything pop-up tip shows.
I just got a Core i5-650 dual core Win7 home premium with a 1 TB drive. I don't want to hog processor time from my primary purpose: Video capture/edit/render/burn.
THANKS for your help!

USN Journal Logging and the pop-up "default" 8192/1024 ?
Re: USN Journal Logging and the pop-up "default" 8192/1024 ?
Mine shows 8192/1024 on an ancient AMD Sempron 3000+, 512 KB, 60 GB HDD.
Not sure why yours (or anyone else's) would show otherwise.
If it's working fine ... though can't hurt to change it to 8192/1024 & see what happens with that.

Thanks, I changed it to the 8k/1k.
Re: USN Journal Logging and the pop-up "default" 8192/1024 ?
Hmmm, as I said, I changed it to the supposed "default" of 8192/1024, but on a later day, I find that it has automagically changed itself now to FOUR TIMES those amounts, namely 32768 and 4096. How does this feature work? When, if ever, should we change it? I am using the latest beta Everything.

32768 max and 4096 delta is the default for Vista or later.
The "Everything" UI will reflect this in the next release.
