Is Everything installed or running as the portable version?

To determine if Everything was installed the following setting is most likely enabled:

In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the General tab on the left.
If Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything is checked, Everything was most likely installed.
If Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything is unchecked, Everything is most likely running as the portable version.

Your Everything.exe is the same for both the installed and portable version.
The installer enables Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything by default, whereas this option is disabled by default for the portable version.
