Hi Folks

I have recently had a problem with a File search.
I know the File is there, but it only shows up the .LNK File

This is on my E: drive

What I have tried already.
1. Rebuild Database
2. Rebuilt USN Journal
3. Used 32bit and 64bit Version
4. Used Windows SFC command to see if I have a Disk corruption
5. I re-did Windows indexing in the Control Panel
6. I reset all the Everything options.

Any ideas Please?

Please make sure no search options are enabled under the Search menu.

Please make sure this file is not excluded under Tools -> Options -> Exclude.

Please try the latest version of Everything as Everything 1.3 can miss changes to your NTFS volumes and does not index all hard links.

I have updated this App, and also dome what you have suggested.

If I click on the .DOC File, it creates an .Lnk and sees that in the search
It dosnt see .DOC Files

Could you please check to see if your E: drive is indexed:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the NTFS tab on the left.
• Is your E: drive listed?
• If it is listed, please make sure Include in database is checked.
• If it is not listed:
  • Click the Folders tab on the left.
  • Click Add....
  • Select your E: drive and click OK.
  • Click OK.
  • Everything will do a quick re-index, does your doc file show up now?

That seems to work.
I have used everything for years and really didn't want to switch.
I will keep you updated.

What exactly is Regex, as I had to switch that off?
