HTTPS authentication?

This programs provides access to files but only has HTTP basic authentication, which is archaic by todays standards. Any chance of getting something more advanced? I know it can always be put behind a reverse proxy but still would be nice for built in security.

SSL for the HTTP server is on my TODO list.

For now, please use a SSL tunnel.
