Partial Filename Search Not Working

I've been using Everything for years. I'm very happy with it.

Suddenly, today, for some reason, partial filename search is not working anymore. I'm using Windows 10 Pro 1709, not updated in the last several days. I type activ into the search bar, and it doesn't show files with "activity" or "active" in their names. It doesn't show anything until I type the full word (e.g., activity). Then it shows files containing only the complete words I've typed. I've tried rebuilding the index, to no avail.

It seems you activated Match Whole Word setting in Search Menu. ( Ctrl + B).
Does "WHOLE WORD" present in low right corner of Everything window?

Well, that's pretty impressive. You solved my problem, and you did it before I even had a chance to waste a whole lot of time on it. Thank you!

I guess we are saying that there's nothing in Tools > Options to control this. I played with the seemingly relevant settings repeatedly, to no avail. Should I suggest that an option be added there (perhaps next to "Match whole filenames when using wildcards" in the Search tab)?

"Match Whole Word" and "Match whole filenames when using wildcards" are 2 different options. I usually disable "Match whole filenames when using wildcards" and control it with my search text. (I hope this is what you meant).

Match the whole file name

nowfn: or nowholefilename:
Do not match the whole file name
