"Pin to Start" not working

Post by christmw2503 »

The option to pin a folder to Windows 10 Start screen has never worked (for me) when done inside Everything. It always works when done from File Explorer. Is this some Windows Restrictions?

Very observative! Never noticed this before, but you're absolutely right. I did som quick tests: not only Everything, but other filemanagers have the same issue. My money is on "a Windows limitation" :)

Did you try to run Everything as administrator?

No, I did not (or was this for @christmw2503 ?)

(Then it would end up in Administrator's start menu, I guess ... )

Windows does block the pin to start verb from all programs except Windows Explorer.
You used to be able to rename Everything.exe to Explorer.exe and it would work, but no longer does..

Pin to start does work for files if you create a shortcut to that file in the start menu first.
I can not find a way to get it to work with folders..
