I have an install of Everything that has worked ok for quite a while, but now when I try to run it, it says 'Failed to load as administrator'. I am not trying to run it as Administrator though, I'm just trying to run it as the user, as it has always done.
I have another install which was done at the same time, which is still working ok.
I have done a brand new install, on a separate PC, with the latest version, and I am getting the 'Failed to load as administrator' message on this one too.
All 3 PCs are running Windows 7 64-bit. The software will run if I use a domain admin account. Nothing has changed on these PCs as far as I am aware.
Any ideas ?
Failed to load as Administrator
Re: Failed to load as Administrator
Is your Everything service running?
Re: Failed to load as Administrator
You might be seeing the "Failed to run as administrator" message?
Please try the following:
If you prefer to run Everything as administrator, please enable "Run this program as an administrator":
Please try the following:
- Completely exit Everything (Right click the Everything system tray icon and click Exit).
- Open your Everything.ini in the same location as your Everything.exe.
- Change the following line:
run_as_admin=1
to:
run_as_admin=0 - Save changes and restart Everything.
- If Prompted with access denied when starting Everything please choose Install Everything Service.
If you prefer to run Everything as administrator, please enable "Run this program as an administrator":
- Right click your shortcut to Everything or right click your Everything.exe and click Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program as an administrator.
- Click OK.
