Hello.
I would like to start Everything with admin privileges in order to be able to access all my computer and show everything.
I've tried with different combinations of the settings "Everything service" and "Run as administrator" and "Start Everything on system startup" but no matter what I do whenever I start Windows I get a Windows User Account Control message complaining about privileges, I need to accept it every time.
Other tools run transparenty with admin privileges without complaining, such as the antivirus and other. But Everything doesn't.
Isn't it possible to do the same with Everything?
Start as admin
Re: Start as admin
In order to avoid this message, you need to Disable RunAsAdmin, and install Everything Service instead.
Please try:
Menu: Tools > Options > General (tab)
Uncheck "Run as Admin"
Check "Everything Service"
Also, ensure you did included what you want and you not excluded anything in the Indexes group.

Menu: Tools > Options > General (tab)
Uncheck "Run as Admin"
Check "Everything Service"

Re: Start as admin
I've also tried this but I have the same problem.
PD: OK, I'm sorry, I've checked that besides using that options it had also checked the option "run as admin" in the icon.
Now, it I don't use "run as admin" but I have activated the service.... Does it have access to system and hidden folders?

Re: Start as admin
Yes of course, the service indexes any full NTFS volume.skan wrote:I've also tried this but I have the same problem.

Re: Start as admin
if Everything is still showing the UAC dialog, please make sure "Run this program as an administrator" is disabled:
- Right click a shortcut to Everything or right click your Everything.exe and click Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Uncheck Run this program as an administrator.
- Click OK.
