Making bookmarks feature more accessible

Post by aviasd »

The bookmark feature could be made more usable by making a hotkey for viewing the bookmark list (Ctrl+D) for choosing, and "adding item" as a submenu item. (like TC)

I don't really use alt normally and B is quite far compared to ctrl+d :)
I guess if there was an option to map the bookmark menu to a custom key it would work too, so it can be worked around. you could also write a ahk script to accomplish the same but i wanted the feature to be more accessible to every user. that's why i suggested it - i guess it's more of a ux change than an actual feature
I wasn't aware of that feature.. thx !
guess i have to go through the ini to refresh my knowledge....

Even changing the <Alt>-<B> is possible! : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6347&p=19270&hilit= ... age#p19270

(You could also use <F10>, <B> for a while; then you are happy with <Alt>-<B> :)

That's just changing an alt key to another alt key

Lol hit me in the stomach when I have a headache and the headache goes away :)
anyway it's just lazy guys wiseacring's , I could live with alt-b or i'd write an ahk sometime when I'm free to it
cheers

I think there is a way to use Everything by an Internet Browser. (I never used it)
I don't know if this can give the user more possibilities for Bookmarks. (by using the Bookmarks of the browser)

To use your web browser as a bookmark system for Everything:
  • In Everything, from the Search menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check URL Protocol.
  • Click OK.
  • In your web browser, create a bookmark with the url:
    es:<search>
where <search> is your Everything search, for example, to make a bookmark open the search foo bar, set the web browser bookmark url to: es:foo bar
Note: this will only allow the search to be recalled, not search settings and view settings such as match case, or thumbnails.

I never intended the bookmark system to be used as much as it is, so I have on my TODO list to improve the bookmarks system in Everything with bookmark folders and icons.
