Everything supports Windows 8 storage space.

Please make sure the storage space is formatted with NTFS and you are running Everything with administrator privileges or are running the Everything service.

Everything 1.3.0 or later will detect new storage spaces immediately.

With earlier versions of Everything you will need to force the database to rebuild.

To force a database rebuild:
  • Exit Everything.
  • Delete your Everything.db file.
  • Restart Everything.

Thanks for the reply void.

I'm using Everything 1.3.1.636b.
OS is Windows 2012 Datacenter.

Cause

It was because the "Storage Space" volemes is not listed.

I would recommend NTFS indexing over folder indexing.

Could you please send the volume information of the storage space drive...

To get this information, run an elevated command prompt and from the prompt run:

Code: Select all

fsutil fsinfo volumeinfo D:
Where D: is your storage space drive.

Also please send the output of:

Code: Select all

fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo D:
Where D: is your storage space drive.

Thanks for the reply void.

File systems have think NTFS, it was a mistake ReFS.

>fsutil fsinfo volumeinfo T:
Volume Name : TestMirror
Volume Serial Number : 0xee91f1c4
Max Component Length : 255
File System Name : ReFS
Is ReadWrite
Supports Case-sensitive filenames
Preserves Case of filenames
Supports Unicode in filenames
Preserves & Enforces ACL's
Supports Sparse files
Supports Reparse Points
Supports Open By FileID
Supports USN Journal

Whether you are also supported in ReFS "Everything 1.3.1.636b"?

However, the only all in the following settings.

Hello void,

I've just tried out the current beta version 1.3.2.649b on a Server 2012 using ReFS data partitions.
I cannot see native ReFS support within everything.
Am I missing something?

Thanks, Alex.

I had to drop support for ReFS due to very poor support in Windows 8 and poor support in Windows Server 2012.

I will review ReFS in a future release.

I am using Storage Spaces virtual disks under Windows 10, and Everything does not scan ANY of my virtual drives, only physical drives. I am running Windows 10 Professional Version 1703, Insider Preview Build 16275 (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update - rs3_release).

My system has 14 physical drives, 2 SSDs, 12 magnetic drives from 2TB to 4TB each. Some of the drives are partitioned and formatted to NTFS directly (C:, Q:, R:, S:, T:, U:, W:, X:, Z:), and work fine with Everything. Others are combined into one Storage Spaces Pool, from which several Mirrored or parity virtual disks are created (J:, K:, L:, M:, N:, P:). Everything does not scan these drives, although they show up under Tools/Options/NTFS, and I DO have the "include in database" box checked. I have deleted and recreated the database several times without success.

Help! I would be happy to help solve this issue and/or run any test software you might require. Thanks!!!

Here is the info from M:, as an example (the others are all similar):

Thanks for the file system info.

Storage spaces and ReFS are supported in Everything 1.4.1.877.

Could you please send some debug output when you open the NTFS options page:
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /debug
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the NTFS tab on the left.
  • What is displayed in the debug console?

To close the debug console:
  • In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
    /debug

I think this is the info that you want, but I am emailing the entire log to support@voidtools.com (I saw that the log was flashing by, so i used your online help to find the \debug_log command).

Thanks so much for the quick reply - I love your tool and hope you continue to support/enhance it!

Andy

Thank you Andy for the helping find the issue.

This was a memory alignment issue.

It has been fixed in Everything 1.4.1.882b:
