Searching just part of the file name

Post by matt432 »

For some reason with the update 1.4.1.809b from my previous install, the file name search is too verbose. Like if I want to search "file.txt" it'll only bring up that result when tying the whole name. With the old version, the search result would display file.txt even if I just typed "fil", "file", "file.t" or whatever. I'm aware of the wildcard character but I'd rather have this old behavior as the default. I've played with the settings a bit and I haven't had any success. Anyway, not a big deal but maybe I'm wrong, I'd assume most people would want this as the default as it's the more safe option and displays more results.

Please make sure Match whole word is disabled from the Search menu.

Search modifiers are shown in the status bar on the right.
Search modifiers can also be disabled by double clicking on the text in the status bar.

Thank you, that was stupid of me to overlook the menu bar but I don't check it much in most programs since a lot of the time the options it shows are redundant and found in the options menu. But that was the problem, now I feel embarrassed. And thanks for your software; it's invaluable.

Yeah, you must be an utterly nitwit. Can't think of anyone being *that* stupid ...
