Use to Everythings at the same time?
Use to Everythings at the same time?
Can one use to portable Everythings at the same time located in different folders?
Re: Use to Everythings at the same time?
Yes, use instances:
(http://www.voidtools.com/support/everyt ... instances/)
Instances
c:\folder1\everything.exe -instance "Instance 1"
d:\folder1\everything.exe -instance "My USB disk"
"Regular"
c:\program files\everything\everything.exe
Those three can run side by side.
An example can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6162

Re: Use to Everythings at the same time?
Many thanks.
I thought the way my Everything runs it already uses these instances.
I copied the first Everything to another place. I made a link to the second one and added this: Everything.exe -instance "ETP Server"
When I double click the link this message appears, but Everything appears to work properly:
How could I avoid this message? Respectively where else should I add -instance "ETP Server"?

Re: Use to Everythings at the same time?
I *think* you put Everything.exe two times on the command line.
It should read something like:
(oder -instance "ETP Server"; der Name is egal .. )
EDIT: Upon re-reading this: Sorry for the language mix up; I saw a German dialog box while on the phone, speaking Dutch and writing English text at the same time.
Apparently that lead to some short circuit in my brain... I had no idea I switched to the German language :-S

Code: Select all
"c:\path\to\everything.exe" -instance "Mein erster Versuch"

Re: Use to Everythings at the same time?
Ah, unbelievable, you are right of course, twice the exe added. Your version does work.
Unglaublich, da sehe ich nicht mal auf dem eigenen Bildschirmfoto, was gut zu erkennen ist, die 2 exe-Einträge.
Jetzt funktioniert es.
Vielen Dank
