Microsoft hotkeys assignment for these commands (Details view -- Extea Large icons view) doesn't make sense to me.
I'd prefer something like:
Alt+PgUp (a Keyboard shortcut as Ctrl+WheelUp)
Alt+PgDn (a Keyboard shortcut as Ctrl+WheelDown)
Alt+Home (Details view)
Alt+End (Extea Large icons view)
I think currently such commands are not available in Everything shortcuts...
Ctrl+Alt+[Number] - Icons View
Re: Ctrl+Alt+[Number] - Icons View
They should probably match Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Ctrl + Shift + 1, Ctrl + Shift + 2, Ctrl + Shift + 3 and Ctrl + Shift + 6.
Changed for the next beta update.
To customize keyboard shortcuts in Everything:
Ctrl + Shift + 1, Ctrl + Shift + 2, Ctrl + Shift + 3 and Ctrl + Shift + 6.
Changed for the next beta update.
To customize keyboard shortcuts in Everything:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Keyboard tab on the left.
- Select one of the following commands:
- View | Increase Thumbnail Size
- View | Decrease Thumbnail Size
- View | Details
- View | Extra Large Thumbnails
- Click Add....
- Press a new keyboard shortcut for the selected command and click OK.
- Repeat for any other command.
- Click OK.
Re: Ctrl+Alt+[Number] - Icons View
@void: Is there any chance you can make the Everything Options window resizable? It would make it much easier to see the various settings (with much less scrolling required), especially those in the Keyboard section, and the Indexes > NTFS section (for those of us who have a lot of disk drives). Thank you!
Re: Ctrl+Alt+[Number] - Icons View
The widgets in the options window are currently hard coded.

The default shortkeys are very odd.void wrote:They should probably match Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

For Increase/Decrease Thumbnail Size it uses Alt+Ctrl
For View | Details...Extra Large Thumbnails it uses Ctrl+Shift
I understand this behaviour is for match to Windows 10, but still... it doesn't make sense to me.
Personally, I'm using Alt+Ctrl+-/= shortkeys to launch and Increase/Decrease Windows Magnifier similar to what is described here in HotkeyP forum, since Windows Magnifier has some cool commands use the Alt+Ctrl combination.
I would expected to use Ctrl+Shift+-/= as the default for Increase/Decrease Thumbnail Size.
Is it going to be changed or you would prefer the Windows defaults?
Re: Ctrl+Alt+[Number] - Icons View
Yes, this should be Ctrl + Shift + -/=, currently it is Ctrl + Alt + -/=.I would expected to use Ctrl+Shift+-/= as the default for Increase/Decrease Thumbnail Size.
