On rare occasions I would be happy to run a 2nd session of Everything.
For example: image I have 1 Everything session open, would like to do some renaming, but just want to make sure about about using I would be renaming files (or folders) to names that are in line with other, existing names.
I.e. I would like to open a 2nd sessions, quickly check the names and copy them and use them in the 1st session.
When I rightclick on the Everything button in the taskbar and select Everything, it will not open a 2nd session.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Later...
p.s. I tried to copy paste the Everything folder, run the 1st Everything and then from the 2nd folder run Everything again, it will not load twice.
Everything Portable: is it possible to run two instances?
Re: Everything Portable: is it possible to run two instances?
Please try using named instances:
Run Everything normally for the first instance.
Run a second instance of Everything with the -instance <instance name> command line option with a unique "instance name", for example:
Everything.exe -instance "Rename Check"

Re: Everything Portable: is it possible to run two instances?
Many thanks for the below.
Tried that and it worked.
Although ... when comparing to '1st instance' there was a difference in number of objects and folders etc.
Also after force rebuild.
I have compared all settings and can't find a difference, probably there is, but I can't find it.
I tried following:
- closed both sessions
- renamed '2nd instance.ini' to '2nd instance.bak'
- copied 'everything.ini' to '2nd instance.ini'
- launched both everything + force rebuild
- still a difference
any idea ?

Re: Everything Portable: is it possible to run two instances?
Are you excluding any files (from Tools -> Options -> Exclude)?
Re: Everything Portable: is it possible to run two instances?
Right!
Under Exclude I added a filter named $Recycle.bin
Now the results are the same.

Not sure if this is the right way, or whether I should add this per drive, so:
C:\$Recycle.bin
D:\$RECYCLE.BIN
E:\$RECYCLE.BIN
etc.
