Hi all,
I'm using everything beta and last stable version for Windows 10 pro/x64. Running as user with admin-rights. Everything starts with Windows.
My Computer: Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. Intel Core Duo T7800 @2,6GHz. 4GB DDR2 667 Ram.
My Drives:
C: 1TB Hitachi (system, progs)
D: 2TB Seagate (MP3, other files) in Ultrabay (CD-Drive is now a 2TB-HD)
I have ~200.000 MP3-files or 1,3TB. Filename is: No - Title - Artist.mp3. Example: 02 - Misery - The Beatles.mp3. All in D:\@MP3 and sub-dirs.
Everything works fine while seaching and shows all files matching the search.
Double-click on file opens my player 1by1 (if not open) or plays the MP3. 1by1 is my standard-player (open *.mp3 always with my player).
But: after 5-15 double-clicks everything hangs 100%. No reaction. Must terminate it with taskmanager!
What is wrong? Witch files must I upload to help finding the mistake? Any logs?
Are there everything-logs to look in for errors?
Perhaps file-names are too long?
Everything worked fine on the same machine with Win XP/x32 and Win7 ultimate/x64.
1by1 by Martin Petsch is freeware. Use it with bass.dll.
Best regards mccs

Re: Everything hangs - MP3 search - MP3Player 1by1
Please try running Everything in debug mode:
- In Everything, press Ctrl + `
- What is displayed in the debug console after Everything hangs?
Re: Everything hangs - MP3 search - MP3Player 1by1
Thank you!
I'll try it tomorrow because of New Year-Party.

Ok. Now is time for debug.
Here what I've done:
1. changed in "everything.ini" debug=1
2. Run CMD as admin.
3. Opened everything in CMD-window with "C:\Progis-W10\Everything\Everything.exe -debug > %APPDATA%\debug.txt"
4. Everything opened.
5. Search-string in everything: "Don't ha"
6. Everything shows the list with results.
7. Double-clicked some results in the list every 5 sec.
8. 1by1 opened (if not open) and played the song.
9. Last song without error was "D:\@MP3\J\JERRY LEE LEWIS\2006 Last Man Standing\05 - You Don't Have To Go - Jerry Lee Lewis.mp3"
10. Next song freezes everything: "D:\@MP3\N\NRBQ\1989 Wild Weekend\05 - If I Don't Have You - Nrbq.mp3"
11. 1by1 played as espected all the songs in his active list, but everything was 100% dead.
Before zipping debug.txt I must close everything with taskmanager. This means: everything was active; winrar couldn'd zip an active file.
In debug.txt i found a line: "WM_ACTIVATE 0000000000000000 0000000000000000, lastfocus 0000000000090708, current focus 0000000000090708"
I'm not firm in programming, but I think this shows how windows lost control of the everything-window.
The complete "debug.txt" as zip-attachment:
Hope this helps. I couldn't see a debug-console-window. Thus the debug.txt is the only information I have.
I can do some other tests to help. Please let me know.
Best regards
