UAC - This app tries to make changes - at start up

Post by laserbeam »

Greetings. Love the program and it works really well.

But, every time I reboot I get an annoying UAC warning about "this app making changes to my PC".

Is there a way to fix it without disabling UAC?
That would be real nice.

Thank you!

Use version 1.3 or 1.4beta & enable the Everything Service.

Everything service is already Enabled. But Run as Admin is not - will it make any difference if I enable it?

Run as Admin option didn't change anything.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the Publisher is unknown to MS?

Was anyone able to fix this? Should I reinstall Everything since I just upgraded to Win10?

Thanks!

Has there been any progress with this topic? I am having the same issue, tried the workaround with the taskscheduler as well but nothing seems to work.
I'd like to be able to run Everything at startup again without having to OK it with UAC every time.

Please try the current stable Everything 1.3 release or the Everything 1.4 beta release:
http://www.voidtools.com/downloads/

Make sure the Everything service is installed and run as administrator is disabled.
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab.
  • Uncheck Run as adminstrator.
  • Check Everything service.
  • Click OK.
  • Restart Everything.
