I know that Everything has many other features that I have never tried out like looking for duplicates. I have a problem that is a little bit like this only in reverse. I'm looking for things where there isn't a match, so that I can paste them onto another drive.
Let me explain. I have had many major crashes on my PC's over the years & these often entailed me having to reinstall programs & make backups of files on different drives, mainly WD passport drives & on these drives I have many files that are duplicated sometimes in several places & sometimes in sub folders.
I'm trying to get all of the files that I must keep like photo's, videos etc back into one drive without lots of duplicates. I had thought that if I were to do a copy & paste from a folder into another folder on a different drive I would get a warning that I already had a copy of the file on the paste to drive but apparently this doesn't work. Had this worked in this way I think I should end up with just one copy that's all in one place.
Do you know any feature in Everything that might help in this regard? Failing this do you know any other utility that would help? I should add that even thought I have a clean install of Windows 10 I';m still having lots of problems with things like USB etc
Thanks in advance
Can Everything find non duplicates?
Re: Can Everything find non duplicates?
Code: Select all
!dupe:
Like only searches on filenames (unless you use sizedupe:, which searches on sizes ) & also returns results against all (indexed) drives, even if you filtered results to a single drive.
Re: Can Everything find non duplicates?
i think you need extra code to achive this.
access everything from http and get return json string then deal with it.
