I've excluded a number of folders from Everything's search, but . . .
. . . Options > Indexes > Exclude > Add Folder, doesn't list the C:\$WINDOWS folder, so I'm getting that folder listed in my Everything searches.
How can I exclude the C:\$WINDOWS folder?
How to Exclude C:\$WINDOWS Folder
Re: How to Exclude C:\$WINDOWS Folder
That's kind of an odd name, nonetheless I don't see why it couldn't be excluded?
I created, then excluded, C:\TMP\SAL801.tmp\$WINDOWS, & it excluded just fine.
What version of Everything?
Anything "special" about that directory? Odd attributes or something like that?

Re: How to Exclude C:\$WINDOWS Folder
Thanks therub your reply made me go back to the Exclude option and I spied the check boxes for "Exclude hidden files and folders" and "exclude system files and folders", don't know how I missed 'em before but when checked they take out the C:\$WINDOWS folder from searches
