Updating file list does not update index?

I have a file list for files located on a network drive. When I want to update it, I will go to File List Editor, and then drag all the files over, then let is read extended file information, then save it over the old .efu file. I notice if I search for something that was newly added (which is why I update the file list) at this time, it does not show up in search results. I have to do a Force Rebuild for the file to show up. Is this normal behavior?

It is the normal behavior for Everything 1.3.
You will need to manually force a rebuild from Everything -> Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Force Rebuild.

The next release of Everything will have an option to monitor indexed file lists for changes.
If a change is detected the index is updated.
This option will be enabled by default.
