Hello --

Don't know if this is connected, but my win7 64bit system crashed the other day. It did start to slow done and I did notice
that the storage commit rate was more the the real storage on the system

does "everything" try to keep all the scans in storage? Or maybe it was my setting -- I have it set to scan usb drive when connected -- at one point the status indicator noted more than 1,000,000 files

Yes, the default location for data and settings for Everything is in %APPDATA%\Everything.

Please check this folder for any suspiciously large files.
1,000,000 files should use less than 100MB.
